Plumber in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce
NDG is mostly brick duplexes and triplexes built between 1905 and 1935, with basements that were often finished long ago. A lead or galvanized water service and an original cast-iron stack are the norm rather than the exception, especially north of Sherbrooke Street.
The area around Somerled and Fielding has somewhat larger single-family homes from the 1920s–40s, with basements less often finished but stacks just as old. A plumber handling your request can assess both profiles: diagnosis, water service replacement and stack repair.
All services
Water service line and galvanized pipe replacement
Pressure that's dropped for years, rusty water on start-up, an upstairs tap reduced to a trickle: classic signs of a galvanized pipe corroded shut from the inside.
Cast-iron drain stack repair and replacement
A sewer smell in the basement, a damp stain tracking the stack, a slight sag at the base: century-old cast iron cracks from the inside before it shows on the outside.
Basement floor drain and backup service
Every thaw, the floor drain backs up before the weeping drain can keep up: a sign of a missing check valve or a foundation drain at the end of its life.
Water heater and fixture installation
A new water heater plumbed onto rusted galvanized pipe will never deliver its full flow: the plumber should assess the cause before recommending work.
